Actinic Keratoses

ACTINIC KERATOSES

These spots are considered pre-cancerous and left untreated, have a risk of developing into a squamous cell carcinoma. They are most common in sun-exposed skin, especially on the face. They may be treated in the following ways:

  • Liquid nitrogen (freeze therapy)
  • Take home prescription creams
  • Chemical peels and laser treatments
  • Biopsy to exclude skin cancer
